Vacation.

My mother-in-law and her husband very generously gave us one of their "free weeks" from their time-share ownership. For a very small price, Tucker, the kids and myself were able to head up to Cape Cod for the week.

It was great. Seriously. Much needed and great.

We had a wonderful little two bedroom apartment, and we spent most of the days there tooling around the town, doing some shopping, and hanging out at the indoor pool (Oh, how I love an indoor pool). There was even free wireless internet and we brought along our laptop, so I was able to spend some time online checking out my favorite sites and blogs. (The internet addition...it runs deep.) However, we were so busy, that I really only got to do that once! Most computer time was spent planning out our Boston trip and finding directions to all the things we wanted to see and do. (What's that? Do all planning before vacation? Hm.)

We went to the beach. No, not to swim...although Tate thought that would be a fabulous idea! It took some serious watching and chasing to keep him away from the water. Rory loved it, and spent most of her time there looking for The Little Mermaid (She was so very convinced that we would actually get to see her...), throwing rocks, and dancing on the sand.

We headed up to Boston on quite possibly the coldest day all week. The children's museum there is amazing, and we had much fun getting lost finding it. (The fun of being lost and "city exploring" soon wore off, though. Especially after the third time or so. Yeah.) On our way up, we made a quick stop in Plymouth to see the rock. Yup. It's a rock. Exciting stuff. (Actually, it's pretty cool. You know, in a history buff kind of way.) After the children's museum, we headed over to the Sam Adams factory and took a tour. (Um? Yawn?) Then we did some shopping (Um, yay!), saw a few historical things (Okay. Just one. It was freezing!) and finally, on the way home, we drove past the Gilette stadium where The Patriots play. (Yeah. So. Not on the "way home" at all...Tucker. He's lucky he's so cute.)

The trip wasn't all fun, though. Rory ran a (scary) high fever one day, and Tate spent much time crying. (I'm waiting for that fever to hit him soon. He was so very crabby by the end of the trip. And if you know Tate, you know that he's like, the happiest baby ever. So I know he's coming down with something!) I had to miss out on meeting a friend of mine due to kids sickness and changing schedules because of that, but I'm sure this won't be our last trip up there, and we'll get to meet up sometime soon!

Overall though, it was a very wonderfully relaxing time. We're happy to be back home, but very much so looking forward to the rest of our weekend off and our next vacation!
